Milton Altenberg – Chairman and CEO
Mr. Altenberg is Chairman and CEO of Quest Integrity Group. He is a specialist in managing rapid growth companies, with 30 years of progressive leadership experience in technology, manufacturing, and sales-intensive environments. Throughout his career, Mr. Altenberg has successfully utilized entrepreneurial instinct and market discipline, and cultivated management teams to deliver sustainable value to customers and shareholders. Mr. Altenberg has served as the President and/or CEO of over 15 companies in a highly diverse group of industries including: energy services, petrochemical and chemical processing, plastics processing, construction products, machining services, automotive manufacturing, software, and management consulting. His experience includes business start-ups as well as mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Altenberg is best known for his technology-driven approach to redefining strategies, business models and markets.
Jeffrey Ott – President
Mr. Ott is President of Quest Integrity Group. He has been involved with high growth, industrial technology companies for the past 20 years as an investor, director, advisor, and financier. Mr. Ott's industry focus has included energy, automotive performance, software, process controls and NDT/E instrumentation. As a general partner at Gryphon Investors, he was responsible for managing the group's middle market-focused technology investment interests. Mr. Ott previously managed the west coast private equity effort and technology investments as a general partner at Deutsche Bank Capital Partners and prior to that, led the global convertible and equity-linked capital markets effort for Bankers Trust. Mr. Ott began his career as an engineer in the Operations Analysis group at Rockwell International's North American Aircraft. Mr. Ott holds a B.S. in Engineering and Operations Research from Southern Methodist University and an M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
Ted L. Anderson - Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Anderson is Chief Technology Officer of Quest Integrity Group. He is a world-renown expert in fracture mechanics and fitness-for-service methods. Dr. Anderson is the author of a best-selling book on fracture mechanics, which has been adopted as a required text in over 100 universities throughout the world. He was instrumental in the development of the original API 579 fitness-for-service document, and continues to be active on the joint API/ASME Fitness-for-Service Committee. Dr. Anderson founded in 1995 Structural Reliability Technology, which was acquired by the Quest Integrity in 2007. Prior to 1995, he was a member of the Mechanical Engineering faculty at Texas A&M University for 10 years and prior to joining the Texas A&M faculty, he was a Senior Research Engineer at The Welding Institute in Cambridge, England. Dr. Anderson received his Ph.D. in metallurgy from the Colorado School of Mines in 1983.
Todd A. Katz – Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Katz is Chief Financial Officer of Quest Integrity Group. Prior to joining Quest Integrity, Mr. Katz spent a total of nine years in the mergers & acquisitions groups at several leading Wall Street investment banks, including Morgan Stanley and most recently as a Director at Merrill Lynch. During this period he advised senior managements and boards on a variety of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, company sales, spin-offs, fairness opinions and shareholder rights plans. Mr. Katz’s transaction experience spans a variety of industries, including energy, healthcare, technology, software, telecommunications, food and general industrial. Mr. Katz began his career as a financial analyst at The MacNeal-Schwendler Corporation, a publicly traded engineering software company, where he played a critical role in the company’s global accounting and SEC reporting functions. Mr. Katz holds a B.A. in Business Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles and an M.B.A. in Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Richard Roberts– Director of Refining Resources
Mr. Roberts is Vice President, Inspection Division and Director, Refining Resources of Quest Integrity Group. Mr. Roberts began his career in the oilfields of Alaska at Arco Petroleum in 1985, where he was involved in a massive corrosion monitoring and prevention program encompassing critical assets such as pipelines, pressure vessels, tanks and well heads. After departing Alaska in 1992, Mr. Roberts helped implement specialized NDE/T division start-ups for various engineering and service companies within North America, such as ABB/Amdata, Combustion Engineering and CTI/Tuboscope. In 1996, Quest Integrated recruited Mr. Roberts to establish a Field Services Division charged with developing and applying its proprietary NDE platforms, LOTIS® and later FTIS™. When Quest Integrated’s Field Service Division and TruTec Services merged to create Quest TruTec in 2004, Mr. Roberts assumed leadership for Quest TruTec’s Condition Assessment Division. Today at Quest Integrity, Mr. Roberts leads both operations and engineering activities for the Inspection Division and coordinates Refining industry-targeted strategic initiatives. Mr. Roberts received his A.S. in NDE from the University of Alaska and his B.S. in Welding Technology from Ohio State University.
Stefan Papenfuss – Director of Pipeline Resources
Mr. Papenfuss is the Director of Pipeline Resources for Quest Integrity Group. He has over 25 years of experience in the oilfield and pipeline service sectors, spanning all facets of operations and sales management. His experience includes global direction of products and services sales to pipeline operators and engineering contractors. Mr. Papenfuss also has extensive background in in-line inspection technology, covering both magnetic flux leakage and ultrasonic methods for National Oilwell Varco, Tuboscope and NDT Systems and Services. He has led business development teams and has built and developed technology sales teams both domestically and internationally, which lends to his thorough knowledge of global natural gas and pipeline markets. Mr. Papenfuss extensively participates in inspection-related pipeline professional associations such as API, NACE, SGA, APIA and PPSA. Mr. Papenfuss joined Quest Integrity Group in 2006 to lead the pipeline inspection and assessment effort, including commercial development of the InVista™ ultrasonic pipeline inspection technology with a focus on traditionally difficult or unpiggable process piping and pipelines.
Barry Fisher – Director of Syngas Resources
Mr. Fisher is Director, Global Business Development for Quest Integrity Group. He has over 30 years of mechanical engineering experience and has spent the last 23 years in the petrochemical industry holding a variety of positions. He began his career in 1976 with British Shipbuilders’ General Engineering Division in the United Kingdom and focused the early years of his career on developing and extending British Shipbuilders’ range of gas and oil-fired water tube and fire tube boilers, including two years in research and development of multi-fuel fluidized bed fire tube boilers. In 1985, Mr. Fisher joined ICI Engineering Technology as a design engineer in their Furnace and Boiler Group, where he provided engineering design, maintenance, turnaround and operational support to the company’s many businesses worldwide. He supported major capital projects involving fired equipment and the commissioning of large ethylene cracking furnaces. Mr. Fisher has also been involved in performing design reviews of primary reformers and associated equipment for clients outside of ICI. Mr. Fisher joined Katalco, the catalyst business of ICI, in 1999 as a technical sales manager. He led the development of a service department which supported catalyst clients in the syngas industry while focusing on asset management, reliability, efficiency and environmental service products.
